Ep 109: Crushin’ Bad Beers with Sarah Parniak

Sarah Parniak is preparing for a long trip to Asia, Ben got sick on a Saturday and Chris is pumped up about sports!

1 oz bourbon
1 oz lemon juice
1 teaspoon simple syrup
3 oz light or wheat beer
1 lemon wedge for garnish

Add the bourbon, lemon juice and simple syrup to a mixing glass and mix well. Strain over ice into a rocks glass, then top it off with the beer. Give it a quick stir, garnish with a lemon wedge and enjoy.

Chartreuse Swizzlechartreuse-swizzle
1.5 oz green Chartreuse
1 oz pineapple juice
.75 oz fresh lime juice
.5 oz falernum
mint sprig, fresh-grated nutmeg

Add all ingredients to a Collins glass and fill with crushed ice. Insert a barspoon into the drink and swizzle the mixture until frost appears on the outside of the glass. Top with more crushed ice and garnish.

1 oz Hakushika Sake
.75 oz Orange Liqueur
.25 oz Kirschwasser
.25 oz Lemon juice
1 oz Blue Curacao
Splash of tonic water

Shake all ingredients but blue curaçao and tonic until well chilled. Strain into a glass with ice. Top with tonic and float blue curaçao. Garnish with a lemon.

Cucumber Wasabi Martini
1.5 oz gin
3 slices fresh cucumber
1 pea-sized dollop of wasabi paste
.5 oz simple syrup
.5 oz lemon juice
Cucumber slice for garnish

Muddle the cucumber slices, wasabi, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and add gin and juice. Shake until well chilled and fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
