The Recipes:
The Impostor
2 oz gin
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz simple syrup (1:1)
3 cherry tomatoes, halved
3 basil leaves
2 dashes Tabasco
Place the cherry tomatoes and basil in a shaker and muddle lightly. Add the remaining ingredients and fill the shaker with ice. Shake until chilled, double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a basil leaf.
One Hot Ginger
1.5 ounces bourbon, preferably Buffalo Trace Eagle Rare
4.5 ounces hot water
.75 ounces Grand Marnier
1 ounce lemon juice
Fresh ginger
.5 oz simple syrup
.5 ounce cinnamon syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
sprinkle cayenne pepper
Muddle several chunks of ginger with a 1/2 ounce of simple syrup in a cocktail shaker, add remaining cold ingredients and stir without ice to combine. Strain into a glass with a handle or a mug, add hot water and stir again. Garnish with an orange peel.
Chien Chaud
1.5 oz White Rhum
2 oz coconut water
.25 oz Yellow Chartreuse
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Shake ingredients with ice until well chilled and strain over fresh ice into a highball glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
The Blinker
2 oz Rye Whiskey
1 oz grapefruit juice
.25 oz simple syrup
1 barspoon raspberry preserves
Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. No garnish.
Seelbach Cocktail
1 oz Bourbon
.5 oz Cointreau
3 dashes Peychauds Bitters
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 oz Champagne
Stir the first four ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with champagne and garnish with an orange twist.
